Parents and students agitated outside the private co-educational school in Aliganj on Sunday, where a Class 3 girl was reportedly harassed by a Class 8 boy on Friday. They demanded stern action against the boy and accused the school management of trying to cover up the incident. Taking a serious note of the issue, the school management rusticated the boy.
SSP Lucknow Kalanidhi Naithani said, “No FIR was lodged, but if the parents insist, I will apprise the district magistrate and request for a security check in the school.”
According to the school management, two boys of Class 8 were playing a game of ‘truth or dare’ in which one of them dared the other to open the zip on the girl’s tunic. The boy carried out the act to complete the dare. On reaching home, the girl reported the incident to her mother.
The next day, her parents reached the school and complained to the principal, after which the boy’s parents were summoned. At the principal’s office, the girl’s father allegedly slapped the accused. After the boy’s father objected to this, the victim’s father informed the police on the Dial 100 service, said the principal.
Thereafter, parents of both the students went to Aliganj police station. However, no complaints were lodged. The boy’s father handed over a written apology to circle officer Deepak Kumar and the girl’s father gave the police officer in writing that he did not want any further action in the incident.
