This would be second time Singh would launch a new political party. The agenda of the new political party - Hindutva, construction of Ram temple at Ayodhya, nationalism and social justice clearly indicates that rather than working against BJP Kalyan’s new political outfit will rather support the saffron brigade in gaining the loosing ground in UP.

After breaking away from BJP in 1999 Kalyan Singh had launched Rashtriya Kranti Party (RKP) and fielded candidates in the 2002 Vidhan Sabha election. RKP damaged the prospects of BJP on various assembly seats and Kalyan’s rebellion was a major factor of BJP losing power.

After joining BJP in 2003 Singh had merged RKP with BJP. A section of the RKP members under the leadership of former MP Shakshi Maharaj decided to continue RKP.

On Friday a meeting of the supporters of Singh from the 34 districts located in the East Uttar Pradesh was held at his official residence- 2 Mall Avenue to discuss the future political course of action. According to sources both the pros and cons of joining BJP was dicussed in the meeting.

Talking to HT Singh said the decision over the name of the new politcal party, its flag and constitution would be taken soon. Though I am not going to Ayodhya on December 6 I would visit Ram janambhoomi soon to have darshan of Ram lala he said and added that dates of his visit to Ayodhya would be announced a week earlier.

Singh will participate in the Lok Sabha session on December 7 when Liberhan Commission report would be tabled in the house for discussion.
