The building in which the Labour and Construction Co - operative Federation (LACCFED) office is located belongs to an aide of former family welfare minister Babu Singh Kushwaha who is lodged in Dasna jail (Ghaziabad) in connection with the national rural health mission (NRHM) scam.
The state government pays Rs. 1.25 lakh per month rent to the owner of the building.
The fact came to the fore when special investigation bureau (SIB) of the state cooperative cell, which is probing the LACCFED scam, summoned Vinod Gupta, the building owner.
The SIB sleuths asked Gupta when and from whom he purchased the building. Gupta refused to reveal the name.
When the sleuths warned him of strict action, Gupta said, “Kushwaha purchased the building and later transferred it to me. On the direction of Kushwaha, I got the building registered in my name.” The building was at the centre of the Rs. 300 crore LACCFED scam.
Meanwhile, the state cooperative cell plans to send the hard disc of computers installed in the Punjab National Bank to the forensic laboratory in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.
A cooperative cell officer said, “The LACCFED account was in the Punjab National Bank and money was fraudulently withdrawn by the engineers with the assistance of the bank officials.”

{{/usCountry}}“We have urged the forensic laboratory officers to retrieve the details of the hard disc which would help in detecting the bungling. The hard disc of the CCTV cameras installed in the LACCFED office would be also sent to the forensic laboratory.
To escape probe, the officers of LACCFED have destroyed the images captured by the camera,” a cooperative cell officer said.
