Two persons were arrested in connection with the alleged rape of a mother and her daughter on Wednesday.
A 36-year-old woman and her 17-year- old daughter alleged that they were gang raped by two men at a house in Priyadarshani colony of Madiaon area on Monday. The woman alleged the accused and their woman accomplice, who allegedly runs a flesh trade racket, lured them by ensuring jobs in a beauty parlour.
She said the two men and a few others present at the house raped them several times and threatened them with dire consequences. The city police have arrested the two accused identified as Rajiv Bhandari and Sumit Jaiswal on the victims’ complaints on Wednesday. However, Shikha, the woman accomplice is yet to be nabbed. Cops are carrying out raids to arrest her.
The victim woman said she and her daughter came to Lucknow from their native place in Gurubakshganj, Rae Bareli on Monday on the assurance of the two accused to provide them jobs in a beauty parlour. She said the two accused met them at Alambagh bus stand and took them to a house in Priyadarshani Colony.
She said she tried to escape after finding the place a bit suspicious, but the two men and their woman accomplice held them captive in a room. She added, “The two men first raped me and my daughter. Thereafter, some more men raped us in the same house. We two were later pushed out of the house.”
The woman approached SSP J Ravinder Goud on Tuesday to register her complaint after which a team of anti-extortion squad was deployed to probe the matter. The anti-extortion squad has arrested the two men on charges of rape and wrongful confinement. Sources said initial probe revealed the two arrested men and the woman accomplice were running the flesh trade racket in Madiaon area for the past several years. They said the role of the victim woman is also under scanner as she was in frequent touch with the two accused.
