Lucknow station terror e-mail traced: Police

The Uttar Pradesh Police today said it had traced the origin of an e-mail threatening to blow up the Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow.

The Uttar Pradesh Police on Tuesday said it had traced the origin of an e-mail threatening to blow up the Charbagh Railway Station in Lucknow.

"The e-mail was sent using the wi-fi network of the Azad Institute of Technology in Bijnore area of the city," Speical DGP (Law and Order) Brijlal told reporters. He said the network of the insitute was not protected and police had seized hard disks of the computers and the ATS was probing the matter.

No arrests have been made so far.

Security was heightened at the Charbagh Railway Station on Monday, following an e-mail to an electronic TV channel claiming that bombs have been planted at platform numbers 4 and 5.
