In a bid to pacify senior party leader Mohammad Azam Khan, who could exert his influence on Muslims, Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on Tuesday said that he was ready to talk to him “whenever and wherever” he wanted.
"I am ready to talk to him. At least he should tell his problem...I called him up several times and today also I called him 15-20 times but he did not pick up the phone...I am ready to go to Rampur also and ready to talk to him whenever and wherever he wants," Yadav told reporters in Lucknow.
Asked whether Azam was annoyed due to Amar Singh's statement against him, Yadav said if this was the case he should have complained it to him.
“If he has some problem with Amar Singh, he should have apprised me about that. I will redress his grievance,” Yadav said.
On if SP's friendship with Kalyan Singh did not go down well with Azam, Yadav said he had never done anything wrong to the Muslims and would not do so in future as well.
“Azam should tell me if I did anything wrong to the community (Muslims). I am ready to apologise if I had made any mistake,” Yadav said, adding that Kalyan’s son Rajbir was minister in his government with Azam.
