One person was killed and three were critically injured in Shia-Sunni violence in Lucknow on Wednesday. The two sides, said the police, exchanged fire after a youth sexually harassed a woman attending a religious gathering in Wazirganj area of the city.

At least five persons sustained bullet injuries, one of who died in a local hospital, a source said. No senior police officials were available for comments.
Unconfirmed reports put the number of dead at two.
As the news of the violence spread, another clash was reported from the old city's Bhawaniganj locality.
