"Funds worth crores of rupees are being spent on advertisments about the so-called achievements of the state government and the people have a right to know from where this money is coming and why it is being spent in this manner", Samajwadi Party spokesman Rajendra Chaudhary said in Lucknow.

Accusing the Governor T V Rajeswar of having been in the habit of scrutinising various measures taken by the previous Mulayam Singh Yadav regime, the SP spokesman said it is time he examined Mayawati government's wasteful expenses.

Questioning the veracity of Mayawati's claims that lakhs of youths have been provided jobs both in the government and private sectors, Chaudhary said she has not even reinstated the 18 thousand policemen recruited by the previous government.
