The city police have chalked out a 10-point safety plan for senior citizens staying alone in the state capital.

Senior superintendent of police (SSP) J Ravinder Goud on Friday has issued a circular to all the police stations in this regard.

The SSP said the circular is based on 10 specific points to curb crime against senior citizens.

He said all police stations in charges have been asked to prepare a list of senior citizens staying alone in their areas.

He said the cops had been asked to maintain proper register and mention each details related to their contact numbers, relatives and frequent visitors including domestic helps, plumbers and milkman etc.

He said the beat constables have been held responsible to collect each information about senior citizens in their areas and also been asked their houses on frequent intervals. He said the police station in charges have been asked to conduct senior citizens meeting every month.

The SSP said the complaints of senior citizens should be entertained on priority and separate registers related to their complaints should be maintained at every police station.
