Ten members of UP Legislative Council take oath

Ten newly-elected members of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, including chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, on Monday took oath in Lucknow.

Ten newly-elected members of Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, including chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, on Monday took oath in Lucknow.

The new members were administered oath by Legislative Council Chairman Ganesh Shankre Pandey at a function held in Lucknow.

Other than Akhilesh, SP members, who took oath, included cabinet minister Ambika Chaudhary, Umar Ali Khan, Rajendra Chaudhary, Naresh Chandra Uttam, Madhu Gupta, Ram Sakal Gurjar and Vijay.

Chaudhary Mushtaq and Mahendra Sigh of RLD and BJP respectively also took oath.

However, three members of BSP Thakur Jaiveer Singh, Doctor Vijay Pratap and Sunil Kumar did not take the oath.
