The two members committee constituted by the state government to probe into the death of bomb blast accused Khalid Mujahid started investigation in Barabanki on Saturday.
Home secretary, Rakesh and ADG (Power Corporation) Javed Akhtar recorded the statement of the district administration officers, police officers and the doctors who did the autopsy of the dead body.
Rakesh and Javed reached PWD guesthouse in the morning but later shifted to guesthouse located in the premises of IPL factory. They recorded the statement of DM Ministi S, SP Sayed Wasim Ahmed, ADM JP Singh, SDM Anil Kumar Singh and Randhir Singh Suman lawyer of Khalid Mujahid.
The statement of the five doctors who performed the postmortem including Dr Yusuf Mobin Kidwai, Dr Mohammad Azam Hanif, Dr VK Srivastava, Dr SK Singh and Dr Pradeep Kumar was also recorded. In the postmortem report the doctors stated that cause of death could not be ascertained and preserved the viscera.
Khalid fell unconscious near Ramsanehi ghat in Barabanki while being brought from Faizabad district court to Lucknow jail on May 18. The police team escorting him rushed to Barabanki district hospital where he was declared dead by the medical officer Dr SK Shukla.
Later on the complaint of Mohammad Zaheer Alam Falahi the police lodged FIR against 42 police officers including two former DGP, officers of STF and ATS.
