UP TET 2017: HC dismisses petitions seeking evaluation of answer sheets

The court said because the OMR sheet was examined by computer on the basis of columns filed by the candidates and once the final result had been declared and in absence of any specific provision to carry out any correction in the OMR sheet no relief could be granted to the candidates.

The Allahabad high court on Monday dismissed a bunch of petitions seeking the court’s directive to evaluate their answer sheet of UP Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET)-2017 and to declare their results as it was not evaluated earlier due to mistakes made by the candidates while filling details in optical mark recognition (OMR) sheets. It is the process of capturing human-marked data from document forms such as surveys and tests.

Dismissing the petitions filed by Kanchan Bala and others, the court stated that there were clear instructions in the booklet directing candidates to correctly fill OMR sheet showing correct registration number, roll number, booklet series and so on.
