Three people were arrested on Monday for allegedly attacking an Argentine woman and robbing her of Rs 2,000 on the bank of the Ganga on Saturday, police said.

A sum of Rs 2,000 was recovered from their possession, the police added.
Superintendent of police, City, Dinesh Kumar Singh said Ramesh Yadav, Pinkal Yadav and Veeran Yadav were arrested from their village. The three men are residents of Katesar village in Chandauli district.
During interrogation, they confessed to having looted Rs 2,000 from the tourist, the police said. The woman identified one of the accused Ramesh Yadav when the three were paraded before her for identification, police said.
The woman lodged a complaint at Ramnagar police station on Sunday, alleging that three youths robbed her of Rs 2,000 when she went across the river to meditate on its bank on Saturday evening.
The woman lives in the Bhadaini area of Varanasi. She is associated with a non-government organisation that helps poor children.
