Here are some cool ideas to add a dash of quirk to your Holi platter and leave your guests charmed

Sweets and other goodies on Holi are, of course, a must. But we tell you how with a bit of imagination, you can add a touch of style to your Holi spread this year.

1) Holi platter goes pop: Spread a brown table cloth on your table for a rustic backdrop. Now, create a colourful contrasting combination of jalebi and pan. “Take a gold tray and place jalebis along with the burfis and laddoos . On the right side, place the pan in a bamboo basket with saffron thandai and dry fruits, and top them with cherries. On the left side place, place your Holi colours. Top it off with rose petals” suggests Nithya Ravi, a food blogger.

Go green with your platter by opting for pan laddu platter with a diya placed in the centre.

2) Go green: Plain laddoos on a platter are so ho-hum. If you want your laddoos to pack a colourful punch, then go green by going for pan laddoo platter . “Place your pan laddoos in a circular manner and leave a little space in the centre, and place a diya in the centre. Go for a bronze platter to add that festive look. If you want to add more colour to your platter then add rose petals and saffron on your platter,” says chef Bhakti Arora , executive chef at Sattviko.

4) Fusion glamour: For a glamorous look, opt for a fusion platter of sweets such as coconut laddoos, strawberry and mango burfi. “Place the food items on the corner of your platter. Use tweezers to place items such as mint leaves and edible flowers such as lavender and rose on top and in the center of the platter. Sprinkle a bit of turmeric along with edible food colours to create fun patterns. Drizzle a little bit of fruit syrup on every item,” says Nishant Choubey, executive chef at Dusit Devarana
