Activist vows to move court against Khadse

Former Aam Aadmi Party leader and anti-corruption crusader Anjali Damania termed the clean chit given to former revenue minister Eknath Khadse by government agencies a farce and asserted that she would move court against Khadse as the government was not doing its duty

Former Aam Aadmi Party leader and anti-corruption crusader Anjali Damania blamed the BJP-led Maharashtra government for shielding corrupt leaders and contractors involved in the irrigation scam as a quid pro quo to protect their own tainted ministers.

Damania, who was in Nagpur, termed the clean chit given to former revenue minister Eknath Khadse by government agencies a farce and asserted that she would move court against Khadse as the government was not doing its duty. Khadse had resigned in the wake of a series of charges levelled against him.

She even slammed chief minister Devendra Fadnavis for absolving Khadse of the charges. Even before an enquiry committee was appointed, Fadnavis had said that Khadse would come out clean, Damania pointed out and alleged that all the corrupt ministers in state were getting a clean chit without proper investigations.

Damania, who had launched a tirade against the former revenue minister, said she would appear in person in all the 11 defamation cases filed against her by Khadse and his supporters. “I would produce evidence before the court to prove the charges,” she added.

The anti-corruption crusader claimed that she had concrete evidence against many ministers in the Devendra Fadnavis ministry, including Pankaja Munde, Vinod Tawde, Jaikumar Rawal, Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Dr Ranjit Patil, which she would make public soon.

“The BJP top brass is aware of the misdeeds of these ministers and is protecting them,” she claimed and alleged that they are also not keen to prosecute tainted NCP leaders like Ajit Pawar and Sunil Tatkare to save the government.
