BMC gets 150 complaints of potholes in 2 days

According to officials from the road department, the maximum number of complaints is from the western suburbs – mainly Andheri, Malad and Goregaon.

The heavy rain since Thursday left the city roads with more potholes – 150 complaints in two days – washing away the civic body’s claims of being monsoon ready.

Of the 206 total complaints received so far, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has fixed 140 roads by Friday evening.

According to officials from the road department, the maximum number of complaints is from the western suburbs – mainly Andheri, Malad and Goregaon.

Since Thursday, the western suburbs received 110mm rain, followed by 62mm in the eastern suburbs and 47mm in the island city.

Of the 188 complaints received until June 28, the BMC had resolved 132, officials said.

After receiving a complaint, officials from the ward are expected to attend to it within 48 hours.
