The police summoned them for questioning after the photographers named them in their complaint. They were arrested later.

The arrested duo was identified as Swapnil Chaskar, 22 and Pravin Salunkhe, 29. Officials said that they had reported on duty every day after the attack.

“The attacked photojournalists described the accused persons. Their names and other identity details were furbished by the earlier arrested accused,” said Sukhlal Varpe, senior inspector of MRA Marg police station.

The police said that their office had been informed about their presence for investigation in the case. They arrived at the police station and after verification of details, placed under formal arrest.

The police have now arrested seven persons in all, among who three were taken into custody on Monday. The trio, Shankar Ayyar, Ashok Bamne, 41 (both) and Manvir Prajapati, 28, were released on a bail of Rs 10,000 each.

All the arrested accused belong to the private security cordon of former Tata Chairman Cyrus Mistry. They attacked photojournalists outside Bombay House, last weekend, when the victims were trying to click Mistry.

One of the security personnel fell down in the process and this led to a squabble between photojournalists and the security team, following which the latter launched an attack on the lensmen.

The police first arrested Ganesh Shinde and Mayuresh Gurav who were seen rushing to the attack the lensemen.

The amateur video clips shot at the scene of incident show the duo attacking photographers ruthlessly.

A case of unlawful assembly, voluntarily causing grevious hurt, rioting as per the provisions of the Indian Penal Code and under relevant sections of the Maharashtra Police Act have been registered against the accused.
