The railway protection force (RPF) beefed up security at Churchgate station after the control room received a call saying a bomb had been planted in the premises.Police said a search of the area revealed that the call was a hoax.

RPF officers said they received a call at 11am, after which the anti-terrorism squad (ATS) and the crime branch were alerted. A dog squad was also called in.

“We are trying to trace the caller,” said Niket Kaushik, commissioner, government railway police.
