From Monday, 11 Central Railway local trains in Mumbai will depart 15 min earlier
These early morning services from Karjat/Kasara to CSMT have been rescheduled because of dense fog
In a first, the Central Railway (CR) has tweaked its suburban timetable and brought forward the departure of 11 trains on the main line — from the Karjat and Kasara sections towards CSMT — to prevent major disruptions because of dense fog. The new schedule will come into effect from Monday.

These services will now start 15 minutes earlier than usual. Of the 11 trains, four are from Kasara (04.10am, 04.45 am, 05.55am and 06.35am), five leave from Karjat ( 02.25 am, 03.31am, 04.27am, 04.39am and 05.45) and one each from Ambernath (5.10am) and Khopoli (04.40am). All departure timings mentioned are as per the new schedule.
The timing of these early morning trains have been altered as the dense morning fog forces them to run slower than their normal speed. “There will be no change in the path and timings of other trains from Kalyan and CSMT,” said a CR spokesperson.
The CR cancelled three mail express trains between December 12 and 14 to avoid disruption of the suburban timetable owing to heavy fog beyond Kalyan. CR services have been disrupted several times in the past week due to poor visibility as a result of the fog, much to the frustration of regular commuters.
