The state’s education department declared the last merit list for this year’s online admissions to first year junior colleges (FYJC) on Wednesday. Of 6,596 applicants, 6,564 were allotted seats. The remaining 32 students will be admitted directly by the department.

This round was conducted exclusively for students passing the Secondary School Certificate (SSC) re-exams. “This is the first time that we held a special round for these students,” said BB Chavan, deputy director of education, Mumbai region.
Among those allotted seats, 4, 945 received their first preference, 817 their second and 340 their third preference.The students will secure admissions on the basis of their online results announced on August 30. However, they must submit their original mark sheets as soon as they receive them.
