Gangster Suresh Pujari calls hotelier, demands ₹50 lakh

A 64-year-old hotelier from Ambernath was allegedly threatened by gangster Suresh Pujari on Thursday for Rs50 lakh.

A case has been registered with the Shivaji Nagar police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The Thane anti-extortion cell (AEC) is also investigating the case.
The hotelier got two calls on his mobile phone with a number starting from +3. The caller identified himself as Pujari and told him he wants Rs50 lakh or else the hotelier will be killed in a week.
He also threatened to kill the hotelier’s family.
The police said the accused spoke in Kullu language. On Friday, a case was lodged with the Shivaji Nagar police station. “We are checking the number from which the call came,” said an official.
