Man sodomises mentally challenged nine-year-old boy in Mumbai suburb, flees

An unidentified man allegedly sodomised a mentally challenged nine-year-old boy in Bhiwandi on Saturday afternoon, said police.

The accused is said to be in his 20s.
Officers said the boy, a Class 4 student, went to call his elder brother for lunch, when the accused lured him to an isolated spot and sodomised him. “The boy returned home and complained of back pain. When his father questioned him, he narrated his ordeal. He took his father back to the spot, but the accused had fled by then.The family then approached the police, who registered a case,” said K Jadhav, senior inspector, Shantinagar police station.
Police have made a sketch of the accused, based on the boy’s description. They went to the spot and questioned locals, but were unable to find clues. Teams are patrolling the area in police vehicles as well as on foot in search of the accused
“We have alerted other police stations in the area and are investigating,” said Jadhav.
