The Mumbai police have assigned an officer to ensure the safety of jewellery, cash, books, utensils and other belongings found in the rubble of Siddhi Sai building, which collapsed on Tuesday.
“We have made a list of the belongings found from the rubble and those that are still to be found,” said a senior police officer. “Nine families lived in the building which collapsed. We will return their belongings.”
The local residents have come forward to provide help to the bereaved.
Residents said pillars and beams were damaged when the ground floor was renovated and that caused the building to collapse.
