The woman was produced before a magistrate’s court on Tuesday and sent to judicial custody.

The incident took place on September 22, when the guard stopped the taxi the woman was travelling in at the toll plaza as it was on the wrong lane — the one reserved for vehicles that have a monthly pass. The driver of the taxi got into an argument with the guard. The delay, the police said, irked the woman. She started arguing with the guard and went on to hit his hand with her sandal. An FIR for assaulting a public servant was registered against the woman.
