Mumbai city news: Officers said the situation will be under control on Monday, they advised citizens to plan their routes beforehand.

There was mostly no trouble on Sunday, but in some flooded areas, vehicles broke down. Tree falls also held traffic at places. Water stagnated mostly at the mouths of flyovers, underpasses and low-lying areas.

Disruptions were reported at Lal Bahadur Shastri (LBS) Marg, Pedder road, Girgaum Chowpatty, subways in Andheri and Malad, CST road in Kurla, the north-bound stretch of Phoenix mall in Lower Parel, Jogeshwari-Vikhroli link road, Saidham temple and Andheri flyover on Western Express Highway, south-bound stretch near Sion railway station, Santacruz airport flyover, towards Nesbit Junction in Byculla on Dr BA road, Amar Mahal flyover in Chembur, NC Kelkar Road in Dadar, towards Kotwal Garden, Kalanagar flyover, and Worli naka.

Motorists took to social media to report traffic congestions.

The police advised commuters avoid spots that generally witness snarls or flooding. These are the Western Express Highway, Sion, Dadar, SV Road in Andheri, Khar Link Road, Juhu, Matunga, King’s Circle and Hindmata. “Traffic updates will be shared. We have reviewed flood-prone places,” said Kumar.
