A day after parents submitted written complaints — at the Charkop and Dahisar police stations — against the preschool chain, TreeHouse, whose branches became non-functional owing to the teachers’ refusal to work, the company said it will pay the teachers by the end of this month.

Even as more parents — whose children are enrolled in the Borivli and Malad branches of the preschool — submitted complaints at various police stations on Thursday, Rajesh Bhatia, managing director, said most of the branches in the city were functional.

“There are five to 10 branches, where the most noise is coming from,” he said. He asked parents not to create a ‘panic and pandemonium’.

According to Bhatia, some teachers haven’t been paid for the past three months.

The police have not registered any offence against the management of TreeHouse. Instead, they have directed the parents to approach the concerned department of the state government. “We had sent a letter to the management of the preschool chain, but it couldn’t be served as their Andheri head office was shut. We have asked parents to approach the state education department,” said Subhash Sawant, senior police inspector, Dahisar Police Station.
