Cops bust prostitution racket, rescue three

The police arrested two people and rescued three women from a hotel in Juhu, Andheri.

The police are looking for the mastermind, Jayesh Bora alias Tony, and two others who ran the operations from Jodhpur. SS branch got specific information about the prostitution racket in Andheri.

During the raid, police seized one car out of the 15 cars used in the racket to pick and drop the women along with ₹38,260 cash and five mobile phones.

According to police, the raid was conducted in the early hours of Tuesday under the supervision of Shivdeep Lande, deputy commissioner of police of the anti-narcotic cell (ANC) who has the additional charge of the SS branch.

During investigation it was found when customers contacted Bora, they were given a link to choose a woman, and upon selection they were told the charges, which ranged from ₹35,000 to ₹40,000 for Indian women and ₹1-4 lakh for foreigners.

The Mumbai crime branch has registered a case against all the accused under relevant sections of the IPC and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
