An 18-year-old boy was attacked and severely injured in Dombivli on Thursday because he sent a Valentine’s Day message to a girl.

Mandar Teli, a HSC student, has been admitted to AIMS hospital in ICU, said a police officer.
After the boy sent a message to the girl, her brother and his and his friend stabbed Teli and threw him in front of a hospital.
Both the accused are absconding and a case has been registered under attempt to murder and kidnapping of the IPC.
On Thursday, Teli had gone to buy medicines as his brother was unwell.
He was attacked while he was returning home. The two accused chased him and attacked him.
A police officer from Manpada police station said, “The two then took Teli on a bike and threw him in front of a private hospital. Teli’s friend who saw him being beaten was warned of dire consequences. We recorded Teli’s friend’s statement and a case of attempt to murder and kidnapping was registered.”
The police said that the accused got angry after he saw the Valentine’s Day message on his sister’s mobile phone and found that Teli was in touch with his sister for the past one month.
