MUMBAI: Nearly 400 flats costing between Rs 12 lakh and Rs 1.47 crore are up for grabs in Mumbai’s satellite city Navi Mumbai, with its town planning agency Cidco announcing the sale of unsold units at four of its mass housing schemes.

The 380 flats are at Kharghar and Ulwe and the sale will be done through lots, Cidco sources said. “The flats were constructed by Cidco under its housing-for-all policy. The sale announcement provides an opportunity to buy Cidco flats, which are usually cheaper than those available in private projects,” said Mohan Ninawe, senior public relations officer, Cidco. Sources said the flats had stayed unsold as those, to whom they were allotted earlier, could not make payments.

The flats are located at Kharghar’s sectors 36, 15 and 19A, and in Ulwe. Of these, 101 are for middle-income groups that cost between Rs69 lakh and Rs 78 akh. Another 111 flats cost between Rs 1.35 crore and Rs 1.47 crore.

Sources said applications will be available from October 17 to November 30 for Rs200 at Cidco Bhavan, Raigad Bhavan in CBD Belapur and all branches of TJSB Sahkari Bank Ltd in Maharashtra. Interested buyers must submit applications between October 18 and December 12.
