MUMBAI: Bharatiya Janta Party MLA Ram Kadam on Friday filed an application with the cyber police station, asking them to act on the tweet, alleging corruption by civic officials, published by comedian Kapil Sharma.

The cyber police station, however, said it will forwarding the application to the anticorruption bureau (ACB), as the matter concerns bribery.
“The cyber cell received the application, but as such allegations are usually handled the ACB, it will be forwarded to them for further probe,” said Mumbai police spokesperson Ashok Dudhe.
Kadam’s application said, “A responsible person like him [Kapil] is expected to name the person who demanded the bribe from him. Tweeting is not the right procedure to follow.”
Kadam said he should have first informed the police or the anti-corruption bureau.
“It’s our country and we have to make it corruption-free. Corruption is a serious issue. I appeal to him to name the BMC employee and lodge a complaint. I have also written to the Mumbai police to take cognisance of the tweet and initiate appropriate action,” Kadam said.
