MUMBAI: The Khar police filed a charge sheet against the two brothers aged 20 and 17 years in the murder case of Bandra head constable Vilas Shinde, 51, before Bandra’s magistrate court and the juvenile court on Monday.

The police said the 500-page plus charge sheet contains the statements of more than 20 witnesses. The police had seized the wooden stick used by Ahmed Mohammad Ali Qureshi, 20, to hit Shinde and have applied murder sections of the Indian Penal Code to the case.The forensic report of the weapon has been submitted.
Both brothers were present at the time of filing the charge sheet. While the elder brother is in prison, the minor brother is at the Dongri Remand Home.
The attack on Shinde took place on August 23 around 3.15 pm at a petrol pump near Rajasthan hotel on SV Road in Khar (West) as Shinde stopped the minor for illegally riding the bike without wearing a helmet and was then attacked by his brother Qureshi.
