Two more cop teams in Gujarat

THANE :The Thane police, who are investigating the call centre scam, have sent two more crime branch teams to Gujarat in search of alleged mastermind Sagar Thakkar.

THANE :The Thane police, who are investigating the call centre scam, have sent two more crime branch teams to Gujarat in search of alleged mastermind Sagar Thakkar. Thakkar, who is absconding, is said to have visited his home in Gujarat in September, but has not returned since. A senior inspector from Gujarat said, “We went with the Thane police to Thakkar’s house and found out he has been absconding since he came to know about the raid.”

The police also said, “We are keeping a constant watch on his relatives and friends.” The police have questioned six of his friends. Thane deputy commissioner of police, crime, Parag Manere, said, “We suspect Thakkar is in touch with his friends.”
