Ten kindergarten (KG) children were injured on Monday morning when a rashly driven BEST bus crashed into their school bus near Nahur station. In all, 17 people, including three teachers, both bus drivers, a bus cleaner and a BEST passenger, were injured.

The accident took place after the BEST driver lost control of the bus while overtaking an auto and collided head-on with the school bus, which was coming from the opposite direction, the Navghar police said.
The children of the Airoli-based Euro school escaped with minor injuries, mostly to their foreheads and chins. Two of the three teachers have been admitted to the ICU at Fortis hospital in Bhandup.
BEST driver Shantaram Narayan Nevase, 49, was given first aid and arrested. The police have registered a case against him for rash driving and causing injuries. He will be produced in court on Tuesday.
