2 arrested for jewellery theft

The Kasturba Marg police arrested two men for breaking into a jewellery shop and making away with jewellery worth Rs13.92 lakh.

The Kasturba Marg police arrested two men for breaking into a jewellery shop and making away with jewellery worth Rs13.92 lakh.

The police said the accused, Parshuram Chaudhary, 31, and Datta Kshirsagar, 36, have been involved in 100 to 150 offences. Two jewellers, Arif Khan, 35, and Rameshkumar Nishad, 26, who used to purchase stolen ornaments from the duo, have also been arrested.

On July 11, the duo broke into Shanti Jewellers in Borivli when the shop was closed. The police arrested them following the CCTV footage.
