26/11: SC lawyer to represent state

Top senior Supreme Court (SC) counsel Gopal Subramaniam has agreed to represent the government of Maharashtra for ‘free’ in the November 26, 2008 Mumbai attack case— in which Pakistani terrorist Mohammad Ajamal Amir Kasab’s death sentence has been confirmed by the high court — in the apex court. Top senior Supreme Court (SC) counsel Gopal Subramaniam has agreed to represent the government of Maharashtra for ‘free’ in the November 26, 2008 Mumbai attack case— in which Pakistani terrorist Mohammad Ajamal Amir Kasab’s death sentence has been confirmed by the high court — in the apex court.

Following the nod from Subramaniam who resigned from the post of solicitor general of India last month, the state home department issued an order to that effect on Tuesday, said a home department official.
