A 21-year-old student hanged himself at Samta Nagar residence in Kandivli (E) on Wednesday. Manish Korga, a second-year Science student at Thakur College, was found hanging by a nylon cord at 4.10 pm.
Police Sub-Inspector A More said no suicide note was found. “A case of accidental death has been registered,” he added.
Korga’s father said his son was a brilliant student and did not have any problems with the family.
In an unrelated incident, a 25-year-old homemaker allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling fan at her Versova residence in Andheri (W). Geetali Dhanu was alone at home as her husband, a driver with a private firm, was at work.
The police did not find any suicide note. “She was rushed to hospital but was declared dead. We have registered a case of accidental death,” said Police Sub-Inspector S. Borade.
A 22-year-old woman jumped in front of a running train between Goregaon and Malad stations. She died on the spot. The police are yet to identify her.
