After months of warm days, temperatures and humidity levels fell on Saturday, bringing Mumbaiites some much-needed relief.

At 19.2 degrees Celsius, the suburbs recorded one of its lowest minimum temperatures for November. In south Mumbai, the temperature was 22.5 degrees Celsius.

Moisture levels also dropped across the city on Saturday, with the suburbs and south Mumbai recording 69% and 56% during the day and 35% and 28% during the night, respectively. These are the lowest levels of relative humidity recorded this month.

“From Friday night, the city has been experiencing cold winds from the north, which is responsible for bringing the temperatures below the normal levels. We expect this trend to continue for the next four days at least,” said VK Rajeev, director, western region, India Meteorological Department (IMD).

Weathermen said night temperatures will drop to 18 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature is expected to hover around 32 degrees Celsius on Sunday.

Partly cloudy skies can be expected over the next 48 hours, said an official from the weather department.
