ACP's son kills wife, self in Malad

Abhijeet Kurne, a 27-year-old businessman and son of an assistant commissioner of police, killed his wife and then shot himself with his father’s service revolver in Malad on Friday morning.

Abhijeet’s father Madhusudan found the bodies of his son and daughter-in-law, Ashwini (21), in the flat they occupied next door. The couple had got married in January this year.

Abhijeet’s father is posted with the Mumbai police’s protection branch. “The motive behind the incident has not been ascertained so far,” Deepak Phatangare, police inspector of Malad police station, said.
