Actor’s sister robbed: Driver arrested

Ibrahim Shaikh, the driver who allegedly stole valuables and threatened 72-year-old Akhtar Asif — sister of actor Dilip Kumar and wife of late filmmaker K Asif — was arrested by the Juhu police on Monday.

Asif, an Alzheimer’s patient, informed her brother Aslam Khan that Shaikh and his wife Tabassum, who worked as their domestic help, tortured her physically and mentally. She alleged that the couple duped her of Rs12 lakh, stole antique items and jewellery.

S Phadtare, police sub inspector, Juhu police station, said, “Tabassum is yet to be arrested. Shaikh has admitted to have stolen cash and valuables worth Rs7.5 lakh.”
