After Ambernath civic polls, MNS, Sena join hands in Aurangabad

After teaming up for the Ambernath municipal body elections that took place earlier this month, the Shiv Sena and the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena have joined hands in the Aurangabad civic body to “promote developmental work in the region”.

The single MNS corporator in the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation, Raj Wankhede, on Thursday joined hands with the Sena-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) combine.

Wankhede, who was absent during the city's mayoral elections, said he has joined the combine on the issue of development. The municipal corporation’s general body met on Thursday to elect 16 members for its standing committee.

This is when it was revealed that Wankhede’s name was on the official list of the Sena-BJP.

Wankhede later told journalists that he had joined hands with the saffron allies to promote and encourage development in the city.

Political circles are abuzz with talks of a possible tie-up between the Sena and MNS.

In Mumbai, former Sainiks have started a campaign for their party’s executive president Uddhav Thackeray and MNS president Raj Thackeray to reunite.

First, the MNS helped Sena's nominee to win the mayoral polls in the Ambernath municipal council.

Next, Uddhav sent his book on aerial photography to Raj and several other politicians in the state.
