The Arun Tikku murder case trial has been transferred to a fast-track court in Sewree.

This is the first case against Vijay Palande, of the total five including three murders, committed for trial as of now.
In July, the crime branch had filed a charge sheet against Palande, wife Simran Sood, and his accomplices Dhananjay Shinde, Manoj Gajkosh in the magistrate's court. The court had committed the case to the sessions court for trial on July 27.
Sessions court sources said the case papers were transferred last week. The case is expected to come up for trial by this month, whereby the first bail application of Simran Sood would be heard.
As per the prosecution case, Sood had introduced herself to Anuj, Tikku's son, as Seema
and had introduced Palande as her brother Karan. Palande had conspired to grab Anuj's flat, measuring 1,500 sq ft, by killing him. When Palande realised that his plan was failing due to Tikku's interference, he got Shinde and Gajkosh to murder the senior citizen.
Palande was arrested on April 10 for his involvement in Tikku's murder. He reportedly also confessed to having killed aspiring Bollywood producer Karan Kakkad, whose decomposed body parts were recovered from the Kumbharli Ghat.
