The Maharashtra Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) has given a clean chit to Ashok Jain, a jeweller from Zaveri Bazaar, whose scooter was parked at Khau Galli on Wednesday, where one of the three bombs went off.

Jain was questioned by the ATS on Friday and was ruled out as a suspect.
The police are, however, verifying if the bomb was kept on Jain’s scooter or close to it.
“There were reports of scooters used in the blast. I can say that the scooter is not a suspect vehicle,” said Rakesh Maria, additional director general, ATS.
Ashok’s nephew, Nitesh Jain, 23, said, “My uncle’s Honda Activa was parked in the same lane, but next to the vehicle in which the bomb exploded. Our vehicle was partially damaged and was seized by the police. My uncle was called for questioning and after he produced documents to prove that the Activa was owned by him, he was allowed to go.”
Ashok is a resident of Nagpada. According to Nitesh, the Activa had been purchased over a year ago. The ATS stated that the vehicle would be returned to them in five days.
