Lalit Modi, suspended commissioner of Indian Premier League (IPL), failed to get reprieve after the Bombay high court dismissed his appeal on Tuesday challenging inquiry initiated by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)'s disciplinary committee in alleged financial irregularities.

Modi is facing allegations of financial irregularities in the conduct of the T-20 Cricket tournament.
A division bench of justice Ranjana Desai and justice Rajesh Katkar dismissed the appeal filed by Modi challenging order of single judge dismissing his suit challenging the inquiry by disciplinary committee.
Modi had challenged legality of the three-member disciplinary committee comprising of Arun Jaitley, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Chirayu Amin stating that the three-member disciplinary panel did not have the BCCI General Body's mandate.
On a request from Modi's counsel, HC refused to stay the order to allow him to approach the Supreme Court.
Modi had approached the division bench after a single judge dismissed his petition observing that he (Modi) was trying to delay the disciplinary committee's proceedings.
