Paramveer, 24, is the manager of SMS infrastructure Limited, a firm owned by the Sanchetis, whose directors are his father Abhay and uncle Ajay, a Rajya Sabha member of the BJP and a close aide of party president Nitin Gadkari.

One of the promoters of Adarsh, brigadier M M Wanchu, earlier told the commission that former chief minister Ashok Chavan had pushed for inclusion of civilians in Adarsh list of members.

Paramveer revealed that his father told him about the Adarsh building. “At the time of application for membership, I was a student. My father told me that it was a good investment to buy a flat in Adarsh,” said Paramveer.

On further questioning, he said that he has taken the loan of `71 lakh from San Finance Corporation without any interest. “It is a partnership firm. My father is a partner of this firm,” said Paramveer.

Earlier in the day, Wanchu told the panel that it was Chavan who had pushed for the inclusion of civilians during his tenure as revenue minister. “If I remember correctly, it was the then revenue minister Ashok Chavan who suggested that 20% civilians members would have to be taken,” said Wanchu.

He said that of the 31 members on the list in the year 2000, just three were Kargil heroes.
