Boy must have been tempted with chocolates, says family

Though the family is pinning its hopes on the investigation, the Dongri police have not yet obtained any leads into the disappearance of the child from outside his house at Nishanpada near Dongri.

Unable to comprehend their son's disappearance, the couple cannot control their tears at the mention of Masoom. Mohamad Murtaza, 40, Masoom's father who is a hawker, said, "We haven't been able to eat or sleep since the day Masoom went missing. Before Masoom's birth, we had lost our three daughters. He was a smart boy and our only son. We were to enroll him into a school soon. But, now, we have no clue what the future has in store for us."

Recalling the sequence of events that unfolded on Wednesday afternoon, Asgari Khatoon, 35, Masoom's mother, said, "We were on our way back home at 3.30pm. Close to our house, Masoom asked for water. Irritated with the heat, he said that he will not walk any further. Seeing this, a tea stall owner offered us water."

The couple with their daughters -- two-month-old Farhad and a year-old Mainuna - is now praying for their son's safe return.
