Criticising Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray's statements blaming migrants for spurt in crime in Maharashtra, the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) alleged that he was aiding divisive forces through his “irresponsible” comments.

MNS chief Raj Thackeray on Thursday blamed “hordes of migrants” coming to Mumbai for the spurt in crime in the state.
"Thackeray is working as a terrorist by making such a statement... it will only help divisive forces," a BSP spokesman said. "Terrorists are using blasts to damage the unity and integrity of the country and Thackeray's irresponsible statements are doing the same," he said.
The BSP spokesman said that Thackeray should realise that people of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar have contributed towards development of Mumbai and goods manufactured in Maharashtra were used all over the country, which in turn, was helping the state prosper.
The spokesman added that every Indian has the right to reside anywhere in the country, and there is no separate constitution for Mumbai or Maharashtra.
