Jerrit John, a film production house owner accused of throwing a chemical on his ex-girlfriend, moved a bail application before the sessions court on Thursday.

Earlier on December 7, 2012, John had moved a bail application before the sessions court on grounds that investigation in the case was over and his custody was not required by the police for any purpose.
However, his advocate withdrew the application stating that they did not intend to proceed with the bail plea at this stage.
John has now again moved the bail application on similar grounds stating that police have already filed a charge sheet against him and the investigation is over.
However, John’s former girlfriend has moved an intervention application objecting to his bail plea.
Faiz Merchant, advocate for the victim, said, “Our application is allowed. We will now submit our objections to John’s bail plea.”
On November 7, the accused allegedly hurled a chemical on physiotherapist Aryanka Hosbetkar, at her Worli residence. John was later arrested from the Thane district.
