Citizens’ group to meet MLAs over raids on pubs, clubs

Around 15 members of the group met on Monday to formulate their campaign plan to address what they feel is a violation of the rights of citizens.

A month before this, Nisha Harle, the group’s founder, had formed a detailed petition listing all the problems the city’s youth faced, and conducted a signature campaign.

Now, the group is planning to take a concise version of the petition to politicians in the city.

“We will insist on making the amendment in Mumbai Police Act and the Prohibition Act, as the current law is violating the fundamental rights of the citizens,” said Harle at the meeting.

The group will be meeting Congress MP Priya Dutta and MLA Baba Siddqui, among others.
