City schools to draw up their own development plan on Education Day

On Friday, when the state will celebrate its first Education Day, all the 97,256 private and aided schools will have draw up their own ‘school development plan’.

The Maharashtra Prathamik Shikshan Parishad (MPSP) will distribute a booklet to each school wherein schools will have to stick photos on the infrastructure facilities available to them.

“This data will help us record the infrastructure available in all the schools. We will get a true picture of the money to be allocated and thus our budget will be a realistic one,” said V Radha, project officer of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan who is heading this project.

Education Day will mark the birth anniversary of Maulana Azad, who was the country’s first education minister.

This exercise will start from November 11, will continue till second week of December. Each school will be provided with a seven digit unique code and all the data will be fed in the government website. The School Management Committee will be in-charge of the data collection and will have to have a meeting once before submitting the data.
