Rathod, who scored 97.70 % in his Class 12 Indian School Certificate (ISC) exams, will give up his seat in the Mumbai college if he gets into a Delhi University (DU) college such as Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) or St. Stephen’s College. The DU first merit list will be declared on June 26.

“My father is from SRCC and I would like to study commerce there. I have heard that the university atmosphere is amazing in Delhi,” said Rathod.

Other high scorers too seem to be avoiding city colleges. Kunal Kedia, who scored in 95% in Higher Secondary Certificate exam, plans to keep his admission to BSc course at Ramnarain Ruia College as a back-up. He too wants to head to DU.
